Hewlett Packard are one of the market leaders in printers, printer cartridges and printer ink technology. Founded from a friendship that dates back to 1934, Bill Hewlett and David Packard went on to form a company that would not only stand the test of time but create some of the most sophisticated printing solutions on the planet to date. On January 1st 1939, with the toss of a coin deciding the company name, Hewlett-Packard, or HP as it was later to be called, was born.

The early years of the company was spent inventing groundbreaking technologies in all kinds of electronic devices and it wasn't until the 1980's that HP burst into the printer market with the invention the first HP desktop inkjet printer. Closely followed by the HP Laserjet series of printers this marked the end of the dot matrix era.
